Well, I apologize that it has been a few months since my last post. Although the lack of posts might indicate otherwise, the Cakery in Wheaton was quite busy during last year's fall and winter months. Some of you have already seen this cakes on the Cakery's Facebook page, but for those of you who have not, here is a glimpse of some of those special cakes.
1) This is a chocolate cake with cream cheese coconut filling, vanilla buttercream icing, fondant detail and toasted coconut on top.
Lizzy's mom, Becky, ordered this cake for her 30th birthday. It was super delicious and I was so glad to be able to be part of making this day special for Lizzy.
Check out the fondant detail. It gives it a bit of a lace look.
It doesn't get much better than toasted coconut!
2) Another fun cake was this birthday cake for Lindsay. Red velvet sponge and cream cheese filling is one of her favorite flavor combinations.
This is a red velvet cake with cream cheese chocolate chip filling, vanila buttercream icing and real flowers and ribbon for decoration.
3) Erica ordered a special birthday cake for her mom's birthday.
This is a chocolate cake with vanilla bean filling, which if I may say so is just out of this world delcious, vanilla buttercream icing and crushed oreaos. This is the Cakery in Wheaton's take on a cookies and cream birthday cake.
4) Here is another rosette cake, but this time in chocolate icing.
This is a German chocolate sponge cake with coconut pecan filling and chocolate buttercream icing. Yum!
So, out of these four, which one is your favorite?
